About the Author
Chen Chen is a poet whose work explores the intersections of identity, family, and desire with a blend of tenderness and irreverent humor. Born in China and raised in the United States, Chen draws from his experiences as a queer Asian American to craft verses that challenge conventional narratives of belonging and longing. His debut collection, When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities (A. Poulin, Jr. New Poets of America), won the A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize and was praised for its inventive forms and emotional depth. A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, Chen teaches creative writing and continues to push the boundaries of contemporary poetry, inviting readers to embrace the absurdities and intimacies of human connection.
