About the Author

Dilgo Khyentse (1910-1991) was one of the foremost Tibetan Buddhist masters of the 20th century, renowned for his profound scholarship, meditative realization, and tireless efforts in preserving and transmitting the Dharma. Born in eastern Tibet, he studied under great teachers like Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and became a principal holder of the Nyingma lineage, embodying the non-sectarian Rime tradition. Exiled from Tibet in 1959, he spent decades in India and Bhutan, establishing monasteries, guiding disciples, and authoring numerous texts that distill the essence of Vajrayana teachings. His works, such as Primordial Purity: Oral Instructions on the Three Words That Strike the Vital Point, offer direct, experiential guidance on recognizing the innate purity of mind, making complex Dzogchen principles accessible to practitioners worldwide. Khyentse Rinpoche's life exemplified compassion and wisdom, influencing generations of students including the Dalai Lama.
