About the Author

Édouard Levé was a French writer, photographer, and artist whose innovative literary works blurred the boundaries between autobiography, fiction, and conceptual art. Born in 1965 in Paris, he pursued a multidisciplinary career, exhibiting his photographs internationally while developing a distinctive prose style that emphasized precision, detachment, and introspection. Levé's writing often explored themes of memory, identity, and the mundane with a minimalist elegance, challenging conventional narrative forms. Tragically, he died by suicide in 2007 at the age of 42, shortly after completing his final manuscript, which was posthumously published. His oeuvre continues to influence contemporary literature, celebrated for its intellectual rigor and emotional subtlety.
