About the Author

Gastón R. Gordillo is an acclaimed anthropologist and author whose work delves into the intersections of space, memory, and violence in Latin America. Drawing from his extensive fieldwork in Argentina, Paraguay, and beyond, Gordillo explores how landscapes bear the scars of historical upheavals, transforming rubble and ruins into poignant narratives of resilience and loss. His interdisciplinary approach blends ethnography, history, and cultural theory to illuminate the human dimensions of destruction and reconstruction. With a PhD from the University of Michigan, he has held positions at prestigious institutions and continues to influence discussions on postcolonialism and environmental humanities through his incisive prose.
