Ibn Juzay Al-Kalbi (1321–1350) was a distinguished Andalusian scholar, jurist, and Sufi mystic whose intellectual contributions bridged the realms of Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and spiritual exegesis. Born in Granada during the Nasrid dynasty, he served as a qadi and advisor to Sultan Yusuf I, blending rigorous legal scholarship with profound mystical insights. His most renowned work, Ibn Juzay's Sufic Exegesis: Selections from Kitab al-Tashil li-Ulum al-Tanzil, offers a luminous interpretation of the Quran infused with Sufi wisdom, emphasizing the inner dimensions of divine revelation.
