Magnus J. Wenninger

About the Author

Magnus J. Wenninger was a pioneering mathematician and polyhedron enthusiast whose lifelong passion for geometric forms led him to create intricate three-dimensional models that brought abstract mathematics to life. Born in Germany and later emigrating to the United States, Wenninger dedicated decades to crafting precise paper and cardboard representations of polyhedra, from the simplest Platonic solids to complex uniform and stellated figures. His work not only served as an educational tool for students and researchers but also inspired artists and hobbyists worldwide. Through meticulous documentation and photography, Wenninger captured the elegance and symmetry of these shapes, making the inaccessible beauty of higher geometry tangible and approachable. His contributions continue to influence the fields of geometry and model-building, fostering a deeper appreciation for the wonders of polyhedral structures.
