About the Author

Menachem M. Schneerson, revered as the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, was a profound spiritual leader and scholar whose teachings illuminated the path of Jewish life and observance for generations. Born in 1902 in Ukraine, he escaped the perils of World War II to lead the Chabad-Lubavitch movement from Brooklyn, New York, until his passing in 1994. Through his extensive writings, lectures, and global outreach, the Rebbe emphasized the transformative power of mitzvot—commanded deeds—in fostering personal growth and universal redemption. His work 'Victory of Light: Mitzvat Ner Chanukah 5738' exemplifies his deep exploration of Chanukah's symbolism, urging the kindling of inner light to dispel darkness in the world. Schneerson's legacy endures as a beacon of hope, education, and ethical living.
