About the Author

O. C. Fisher and J. C. Dykes are renowned historians and collaborators whose meticulous research has illuminated the rugged narratives of the American West. Fisher, a former U.S. Congressman from Texas with a deep-rooted passion for frontier lore, teamed up with Dykes, a distinguished scholar of Western literature and bibliophile, to produce works that blend rigorous scholarship with vivid storytelling. Their joint efforts capture the essence of lawmen, outlaws, and pioneers who shaped the untamed landscapes of 19th-century America. Best known for their definitive biography King Fisher: His Life and Times from the Western Frontier Library series, they offer readers an authentic glimpse into the lives of legendary figures, drawing on primary sources and personal archives to debunk myths and reveal the human stories behind the legends. Their writing not only preserves history but also celebrates the enduring spirit of the frontier.
