Pelevin V.O.

About the Author

Victor Pelevin, writing under the pseudonym Pelevin V.O., is a reclusive Russian author renowned for his innovative blend of postmodernism, philosophy, and satire that dissects the absurdities of contemporary life in post-Soviet Russia. Born in Moscow in 1962, he studied linguistics and worked briefly as a journalist before dedicating himself to literature, drawing inspiration from Eastern mysticism, quantum physics, and Buddhist concepts to craft narratives that blur the lines between reality and illusion. His works often feature dreamlike protagonists navigating surreal worlds, critiquing consumerism, politics, and the human condition with sharp wit and metaphysical depth. Pelevin's elusive persona, marked by rare public appearances and a preference for anonymity, mirrors the enigmatic themes in his fiction, establishing him as one of Russia's most influential contemporary voices.
