Peter Rudiak-Gould is an anthropologist and writer whose work bridges the worlds of academic inquiry and immersive storytelling. With a PhD from the University of Oxford, he has dedicated his career to exploring the human dimensions of environmental change, particularly in vulnerable island communities. His debut book, Surviving Paradise: One Year On A Disappearing Island, chronicles his year-long sojourn on the atoll of Ata in the Maldives, offering a poignant firsthand account of life amid rising seas and cultural resilience. Drawing from his experiences as a Fulbright scholar and researcher, Rudiak-Gould's writing illuminates the intersections of climate, culture, and survival, challenging readers to confront the global implications of local losses. He currently teaches anthropology and continues to advocate for climate justice through his essays and lectures.
