Philipp Otto Runge (1777-1810) was a visionary German artist, painter, and color theorist whose brief but brilliant career bridged the worlds of Romanticism and early modernism. Born in Wolgast, Runge studied at the Copenhagen Academy and later in Dresden, where he immersed himself in the study of nature, mythology, and the spiritual dimensions of art.
