About the Author
Rick Hanson, Ph.D., is a neuropsychologist, New York Times bestselling author, and senior fellow of the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. He earned his undergraduate degree at UCLA and doctorate in psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, and spent 10 years in Silicon Valley as the head of a psychiatric clinic before moving his practice into the San Francisco Bay Area. A summa cum laude graduate, Dr. Hanson is featured in the PBS special 'This Emotional Life' and has been invited to teach in meditation centers worldwide. He is the founder of the Wellspring Institute for Neuroscience and Contemplative Wisdom and co-author of the books Buddha’s Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom and Resilient, blending cutting-edge science with ancient wisdom to help people lead wiser, more fulfilling lives.
